A quick one today. You need to take seriously the possibility that our country will enter a period of massive civil unrest or even war soon. The much talked about raid on Trump’s Florida home has been described as a “Fort Sumpter” moment. For those unaware this was the actual beginning of the American Civil War. In fact until that skirmish over a piece of land it looked like the nation was going to divide peacefully.
Full disclosure as many of you know I’m a righty, I’m a trump supporter and what’s called on the right a America First supporter. But I write this newsletter in part because people I know to the left of me needed some resources for preparing. So I’m gong to take the first part of this to tell people on the left what people on the right are saying. This will help you understand where the right is coming from. I’m assuming people on the right aren’t particular interested in quotes from the left. So instead I’ll skip to a checklist of things you should be doing.

The first thing to understand is that the right is increasingly feeling like their witnessing some sort of coup. The Trump raid was followed by more raids on Republicans:
EXCLUSIVE — Republican Rep. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania says that the FBI has confiscated his cellphone.
Perry, in an exclusive statement, told Fox News on Tuesday that while traveling with his family earlier in the day, he was approached by three FBI agents who handed him a warrant and requested that he turn over his cellphone.
The confiscation of the congressman’s personal phone comes one day after FBI agents searched former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.
"This morning, while traveling with my family, 3 FBI agents visited me and seized my cell phone. They made no attempt to contact my lawyer, who would have made arrangements for them to have my phone if that was their wish. I’m outraged — though not surprised — that the FBI under the direction of Merrick Garland’s DOJ, would seize the phone of a sitting Member of Congress," Perry said in his statement. "My phone contains info about my legislative and political activities, and personal/private discussions with my wife, family, constituents, and friends. None of this is the government’s business."
Perry asserted in his statement that "as with President Trump last night, DOJ chose this unnecessary and aggressive action instead of simply contacting my attorneys. These kinds of banana republic tactics should concern every Citizen — especially considering the decision before Congress this week to hire 87,000 new IRS agents to further persecute law-abiding Citizens."
Fox News reached out to the FBI, which declined to comment on this story.

The White House said Tuesday that President Biden and White House staff learned of the FBI’s unprecedented raid on former President Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago through public reports "just like the American people did," and stressed Biden's commitment to Justice Department investigations "free of political influence."
Trump’s private residence in Palm Beach, Florida, was raided by the FBI Monday morning, when the former president was in New York City. The raid was connected to an investigation into classified records Trump allegedly took with him from the White House to his home when he left office in January 2021.
When asked whether Biden or any White House officials were aware of the raid or had been briefed, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said they were not.
"No. The president was not briefed, and he was not aware," she said. "No, no one at the White House was given a heads-up. No, that did not happen."
The White House is claiming this is because they would never interfere with DOJ investigations, but observers are saying this looks like the mainstream Democratic Party has completely lost control of people the bureaucratic state. That perception of unelected bureaucrats working with corrupt politicians to usurp America is a dangerous one that leaves half the country feeling like they have no chance to vote their way out - or as a meme I see floating around put it:

In response Trump’s campaign has been flooded with money. Many supporters also went to the location of the raid in person to show their support. I’ve seen reports of dozens to hundreds.
In an outrageous and unprecedented move by Christopher Wray’s grossly partisan F.B.I., Mar-a-Lago was raided by numerous agents, even breaking into the President’s personal safe. CEO Adam Hardage says he did not fight and see his brothers die for this, “This America of Tyrants.”

Adam Hardage is calling on fellow veterans and Americans of all walks to join him Sunday 8/14 at the FBI HQ in Washington DC to protest the out-of-control FBI and its actions against President Trump.
Hardage says “what the FBI has done is an inciteful act, which is tantamount to an act of war. They are fools to think America will accept this.”
“Now, there is no question as to why Hunter Biden is not under investigation for negotiating crack prices with underage prostitutes and working with his Father to line his own pockets and sell out America,” says Hardage. “They have taken our once trusted institutions and corrupted them to their bones.”
So as you can see there are varying levels of anger right now. I’m not posting people’s more, shall we say emotional, responses. My personal opinion is that hot civil war is possible now.
So what should you do? I am doing the following:
Finish off your food and water storage. I like a years worth but your living situation and finances will determine what you can store. Look for long storing high calorie foods.
If you haven’t finished purchasing whatever firearms you’re looking at do so know. get as much ammo as you can
If you live in a city take the political stickers and slogans down. Even if you’re a leftist in a lefty city, trust me on this.
Have you gotten to know your neighbors? During civil wars it will come down to your local neighborhood mounting defenses. Don’t let people know you’re prepping (they’ll want you to take care of them) but just remain on good enough terms that in an emergency you can work together.
But don’t get chummy with people who are activists. A civil war in America will be a unholy combination of Rwanda and the Balkans. Stay away from people who will be fighting in the streets. Have a plan to, er, deal with the more radical people you know who might cause trouble for you.
Armor if you can afford it is a great idea. Ballistic armor is expensive though. Backpack panels and a good backpack are a great compromise if you can’t afford armor. For the truly desperate Sportsman Guide often has military surplus armor plates that you can get cheap - they are expired and in a variety of conditions however. Right now Italian military surplus plates are selling in the $40 range and YouTubers have demonstrated they’re not bad:
Things are not going to calm down, especially come fall with a important election, bad harvests and increased economic turmoil. Get ready.
